Instant Medu Vada Recipe For A Heavenly Breakfast

Welcome to the world of delicious breakfast! Today, I'll share with you my secret recipe for making Instant Medu Vada. Get ready to tantalize your taste buds!

First, soak 1 cup of urad dal for 2 hours. Then grind it into a smooth batter. Add 1 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of cumin seeds to the batter. Mix well.

Heat oil in a pan. Take a small portion of the batter and shape it into a vada. Gently slide it into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown and crispy.

For the heavenly touch, add a pinch of asafoetida and curry leaves to the oil before frying the vadas. This will enhance the flavor and aroma of the vadas.

Once the vadas are fried, remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Repeat the process for the remaining batter.

Now, let's make the instant version of the traditional sambar. In a pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil and add 1 tsp of mustard seeds, 1 tsp of cumin seeds, and a few curry leaves.

Add 1 chopped onion, 1 chopped tomato, and 1 chopped green chili to the pan. Saute until the onions turn translucent.

Next, add 1 tsp of sambar powder, 1 tsp of red chili powder, and 1 tsp of turmeric powder to the pan. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.

Add 1 cup of water and let the sambar simmer for 5 minutes. Then, add the fried vadas to the sambar and let it cook for another 2 minutes.

Your Instant Medu Vada is ready to be served! Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with coconut chutney. Enjoy the heavenly flavors in every bite!
